Society: the aggregate of people living together in a more or less ordered community.

“More or less ordered” is at the crux of this definition since everyone has different circumstances and their own method of dealing with it. People from all walks of life come together to form this one chaotic beautiful mass called society.

Challenges and struggles throw themselves at the individuals and collectively, society as well. The ignorance of more affluent people towards the struggles of the weaker sections deepens the wound. Such problems amass until society altogether faces a black swan event i.e. pandemic and the lockdown.

Such events expose the adversities and shortcomings of society. It would be a sin not to learn from this. Apart from a surge in cyclists on the road, social work is also increasing around Mumbai thanks to some silent heroes.

To document the people and projects spreading smiles and uplifting society especially after the adversities of the lockdown, I am starting a docu-series called Yo Society, What’s Good? It is also an ode to social workers doing their bit to help society function as a more ordered community.

Asking WHY helps us to unlearn and learn new things. Writing about issues/topics I feel for and some mindfarting.
